Updates and improvements in AvaTax release 17.5:

  • Transactions and Advanced Calculator now display tax sub types in the tax details
  • Prevented duplicate nexus records per jurisdiction caused by newly supported tax types
  • For Returns, sellers use tax is now changed to consumer use tax with tax type C
  • Changed how transactions and tax rules are saved for bottle (tax type D) or lodging tax (tax type L)
  • REST v2 API patch notes on the developer blog

Updates and improvements in AvaTax release 17.4:

  • Enhanced support for multi-tax calculations
  • You can now apply the Exempt All tax rule option at the document level
  • The default Avalara tax code for landed cost transactions with no assigned Avalara tax code is P0000000
  • Import transactions with country-only addresses for countries other than US and Canada
  • Avalara Support can now create transactions in a customer's AvaTax Update account for CUP via a new endpoint to create account override access tokens. They can log on to Avalara Identity and switch to a customer's account. Will be deployed to customer portal during a later release.
  • A background service that prunes expired tokens from the database every night
  • REST v2 API patch notes on the developer blog

Updates and improvements dated April 15, 2017:

  • Enhanced support for multi-tax calculations
