Why isn't tax calculating?

Overview

Tax isn't calculating on your sales order in QuickBooks Desktop.

Environment

QuickBooks Desktop

Resolution

  • Go to File > AvaTax > Configuration

  • Check your configuration- make sure that the information in the following fields is current-

    • Account Number

    • License Key (can be reset in your admin console if needed)

    • Password (can also be reset in your admin console if needed)

    • Click on test connection
