What is the "Customer Exemption Maintenance" menu item found in SalesTax II?


I am using the Customer Exemption Menu.




  • The purpose of this option is to give the user the ability to maintain customer exemption certificates.Exemption Certificates will be used to determine if a customer is taxable in a state. If a certificate is present for a customer for a state, they are considered non-taxable in that state.
  • NOTE: If your company is audited for sales tax by a state, you may be required to produce the certificates as well as these certificate numbers.
  • Having a valid exemption certificate number is not a requirement for placing customers in this file. You can exempt customers by simply entering them in this sub-system.
