Why do the admin console say the page is unavailable?


When trying to access the Avalara admin console page it results in the page being unavailable when I can access other sites on the internet

As of Friday, January 30, 2015 Avalara switched from SSL 3.0 to TLS 1.2 please make sure your web browser has TLS 1.0 or great activated this is required to view the admin console.

  • In Internet Explorer 11
  • Go to the gear in the upper right corner
  • Internet Options
  • Advance Tab
  • In the Security section make sure TLS 1.0 or greater is checked off.


Some security systems can block websites preventing them from loading please confirmed with your IT that is added to the list of accepted sites by the security system.
