How to enable logging in the AvaTax for Dynamics NAV connector?

Overview

You would like to see what is sent when you process transactions and address validations through the AvaTax for Dynamics NAV connector

Environment

Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Resolution

  • If you need to get the AdapterSoap log file from Dynamics NAV please do the following steps in NAV:

    • Go to Administration > Avatax > Configuration Settings >  Check: Enable logging

      • Log out of NAV

      • Log in NAV again

    • Try to process the sales transaction that you are troubleshooting

    • Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Avalara\AvaTax Connect Adapter\Bin\Logs for Win 7 or C:\Program Files\Avalara\AvaTax Connect Adapter\Bin\Logs

      • Find the file AdapterSoap.date.log

    • Go back to Administration > Avatax > Configuration Settings > UnCheck: Enable logging
