How do I resolve 'User account cannot be authenticated' in Dynamics AX?

Overview

You are trying to validate your credentials in the AvaTax for Dynmaics AX configuration but receive error "User account cannot be authenticated".

Environment

Dynamics AX

Resolution

  • Go to Avalara AvaTax > Area page > Setup > AvaTax Setup Assistant 
    • Ensure the Account Number, License Key, Web Service URL, Username, Password and Company Code are correct
      • Log into the AvaTax Admin Console to verify Username and Password
  • Go to Avalara AvaTax > Area page > Setup > Configuration Settings,
    • Ensure the Account Number, License Key, Web Service URL, Username, Password and Company Code are correct
