Why am I getting an error message that says Product and Service not selected in QuickBooks Online?


In QuickBooks Online I'm getting the error Product & Service not selected when hitting the estimate tax button or trying to save. All lines that have data in them have a product & service chosen.

  • This can happen if one of your lines in the invoice that are above the Sales Tax line are completely blank.
  • A completely blank line will technically be looked at as missing a product or service and trigger this error.
  • The error can be resolved by making sure you have no blank lines above the Sales Tax line of your invoice in QuickBooks Online.
