Why would a user be unable to access the Admin Console?

Your are trying to log into the Admin Console site, but cannot gain access

Environment

Avalara AvaTax

Resolution

  • There are several reasons why a user will not be able to log into the Admin Console:
    • Too many failed login attempts has locked their user name
    • Their user role has been set to "Inactive" or changed to "No Access" by their administrator
    • The user does not have an user login for the Admin Console
    • The user is entering an incorrect username or password
    • The password reset feature was used too many times and the temporary password being used is not the most recent
    • The username being entered is present in more than one account, one of which is inactive or expired.
  • In any of these cases the user will need to contact their administrator to re-enable or create a login for the Admin Console
