Do I need to do anything about whitelisting?

Overview

You received a notification about IP whitelisting in the configuration of your software that uses AvaTax and want to know if any action is required on your part.

Resolution

 

  • You probably do not, because most of our customers use the domain name (https://avatax.avalara.net) for communication and security permissions, etc. You only need to make a change if your system is set up with our IP address.
  • Ask your network administrator if you are using IP Whitelisting with AvaTax.
    • If the answer is no, there’s nothing to do.
    • If the answer is yes, consider a change, the notification email includes the information you need to update your system.

 

Note​: If you are not using IP whitelisting, there is nothing to do – your service will work as normal.
