How do I resolve the error "You need 'Full' access under Company Preferences to perform this action."?

Overview

You are getting the error that "You need 'Full' access under Company Preferences to perform this action." when opening the Avatax settings in QuickBooks?

Environment

Avatax for QuickBooks

Resolution

  • Please check your permissions for the user.

  • If that does not work, please copy down the data in File->Avatax->Configuration and then close QB.

    • Then location the Avalara folder next to the QB company file.

    • Rename this file to something else, and start QB Again.

    • Enter in the Avalara configuration settings again.
