How do I resolve "This is a duplicate of an existing ExemptCert and cannot be saved."

Overview

When creating an Exemption certificate it results in the error message "There is missing or incorrect information. See Details below and complete the form.      This is a duplicate of an existing ExemptCert and cannot be saved."

Resolution

  • This is caused by the exemption certificate being entered into the system is a duplicate of a certificate that already exists
  • Confirm that the customer's information is correct
  • The Effective date and the expiration date do not overlap the existing certificate
