How do I resolve "Internet Explorer Cannot Download RptIndex.aspx" when generating reports?

Overview

Using Internet Explorer 8, when you try to download a report the error "unable to download RptIndex.aspx from admin-avatax.avalara.net" appears and you want to know how to download the report.

Avalara Avatax

Resolution

  • IE 8 is not compatible with our service, you can:
    • Use a newer version of IE (such as 9, 10, or 11)
    • Use a different browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari)
    • Export the report in HTML format
