Map tax treatments to Avalara tax codes in Salesforce Billing

Map multiple tax treatments to Avalara tax codes at once.

Steps

  1. If you haven’t already, add the Bulk TaxCode Mapping button to the Tax Treatments tab.
    1. In Salesforce Billing, go to Setup, search for Objects, and then select Objects under Create.
      The Custom Objects page opens.
    2. Select Tax Treatment for Salesforce Billing.
      The Tax Treatment object page opens.
    3. Under Search Layouts, select Edit next to Search Results.
    4. Under Custom Buttons, in the Available Buttons list, select Bulk TaxCode Mapping, select Add, and then select Save.
    5. Under Search Layouts, select Edit next to Tax Treatments List View.
    6. Under Custom Buttons, in the Available Buttons list, select Bulk TaxCode Mapping, select Add, and then select Save.
  2. In Salesforce Billing, go to Tax Treatments, select the All view, and then select Go.
    A list of all current tax treatments displays.
  3. Select the tax treatments you want to map, and then select Bulk TaxCode Mapping.
    A new page opens.
  4. If you want to filter which tax treatments are displayed, enter a search term in the Tax Treatment field. Only tax treatments with that text in the name display until you clear or change the search term.
  5. To map to a standard Avalara tax code, search for and select the Avalara tax code.
    The Avalara tax code to which a tax treatment is mapped displays in the Tax Code column in the list of tax treatments.
  6. To map to a custom tax code:
    1. Select the tax treatment you want to map.
    2. Select the pencil icon that displays when you hover over the Tax Code column for the selected tax treatment.
      The field can now be edited.
    3. Enter the custom tax code in the field.
  7. Select Save.
