Request archived transactions

This article applies to:AvaTax

Older transactions are archived on a separate server so that we have them on hand if you upgrade your data storage plan or need transactions in the event of an audit. Submit a transaction request to retrieve archived transactions.

Before you begin

Accessing transactions older than two or three years requires an Archive Access data storage plan.


  1. In AvaTax, go to Account > Support Cases.
  2. Click Open a Support Case.
  3. Enter your company and case information. In the body field, specify the date range for your archived transactions.
    • Product: AvaTax.
    • Which part? Transactions and invoices.
    • Which best describes your case? I have a question about AvaTax.
    • Are you trying to access historical transactions? Yes.
    • Subject: Archived transaction request.
    • Body: The date range for your archived transactions.
  4. Click Submit.

Pulling the transactions out of the archive and sending them to you may take up to two weeks, but is usually faster. We'll contact you when they're ready.
