Compliance documents such as exemption certificates should be accurate and up-to-date. It's good practice to keep historical documents on file to ensure you're prepared for an audit, but documents uploaded in error can be deleted.
If the document is expired or otherwise invalid, consider editing the certificate and marking it invalid instead of deleting it.
Deleting a document from CertCapture removes the certificate ID and all information associated with it, including the effective and expiration dates, exempt reason, and the document image.
Before you begin
Documents can't be covered after they're deleted, so consider downloading a copy of each document before deleting it.
- In CertCapture, search for the document that you want to delete.
- Select the document ID to view the document details.
- Select Delete Certificate.
- In the message that appears, select OK to confirm that you'd like to delete the document.
