Tour the Returns for Accountants Returns page

Many of your activities using Avalara Returns for Accountants are completed on or starting from the Returns Console Filing Tasks page.

  • To open the page, log into Returns for Accountants and select Compliance Manager application. The Returns > Filing Tasks page is displayed as the default unless you've made user preference changes.

For general information, see Managed Returns for Accountants Overview.

The Returns page is made up of the following sub-pages:

  • Filing Tasks
  • Liability Summary
  • Transactions

Use the Filing Tasks page

On the Filing Tasks page, view returns, return details, adjustments, and credits.

Do the following:

  • Use the Filters pane on the left to identify the companies you want to work with. Hide or reveal this view by selecting the arrow icon to the right of the pane.

  • The returns associated with the filter selections appear in the table located to the right of the Filters pane.

    • For each row, select the arrow icon in the first column to display three tabs: Detail, Adjustments, and Credits. Return details, liability, adjustments, and credits can be reviewed here. Select the arrow icon again to hide the window.

    • Select the check box to the right of the arrow to enable three icons above the table at the top left. Use the widget icon to rebuild the return. Select the lock icon to lock liability. Select the plus sign to create notices. Use the two icons above the table, top right, to download the filtered returns in Excel spreadsheet format and refresh the entire table.

  • The Attachments pane can be hidden or displayed by selecting the arrow icon to the right of the filing grid. The e-file confirmation along with a copy of the return are located here. Note: Returns are not available for viewing until the return has been filed successfully.
