Open a Support Case

This article applies to:Avalara AvaTax Update

The fastest way to open a support case with Avalara is in Avalara Account. If you've already submitted a support case, sign into Avalara Account to track its progress.

Before you begin

This info will help us properly track and resolve your case.

  • Email
    The email address you use to sign into Avalara apps.
  • Company name
    The company in AvaTax where the issue occurs. We'll need this to troubleshoot in the correct environment.
  • Permission to manage the account
    Avalara Account is available to account admins.

Steps

  1. Click here to sign into Avalara Account.
    1. This link will take you straight to the support cases page.
    2. If the link doesn't work, get to support cases by signing into https://account.avalara.com and clicking Support Cases.
      Tip icon Go to the support cases page to track support cases that you've already submitted.
  2. Click Open a support case.
  3. Add your email and company, and then select the category that best matches what you need help with.
    1. The range of options depends on the products in your plan. For example, Returns is not selectable if you haven't purchased it.
      Tip icon If you need to submit a tax notice, see Send a Tax Notice to Avalara.
  4. Enter a subject line and description for the support case.
    1. As you type, you'll see a list of articles related to your issue appear on the right side of the page.
    2. Click Upload an attachment to include screenshots or other important files.
  5. Click Submit.
