Run a liability worksheet report

If you use Managed Returns, use liability worksheet reports to get summaries of your tax liability by state.

Tip icon AvaTax begins updating report data every 30 minutes, so you may need to wait to see your most recent transactions in your reports. Go to the Transactions page for up-to-the-minute activity.

  1. In AvaTax, go to Reports.
    The Transaction Reports tab opens.
  2. Select the Liability & Tax Return Reports tab.
  3. Select Liability Worksheet Reports for the report category, and then select the report type:
    • Tax Liability Worksheet State Summary
      Shows one row of liability data for each state or province.
    • Tax Liability Worksheet Summary Return Detail
      Shows the tax return information for each state or province. B&O tax, if you have any, is listed in the Other Adjustments column.
    • Tax Liability Worksheet Carryover Credits
      Shows the details of all applied or excluded credits at the tax return level.
  4. Report details options change depending on the report you select. Provide the following as applicable:
    • Worksheet Type
      If you've requested that Avalara amend a return filing, two records are available for that return--the original unamended version, with mistakes that needed to be fixed, and the final amended version. Choose which version you want to see in your report.

  5. Select Generate and Download Report.
