Can Avalara help resolve notices for TrustFile customers?

Overview

You use the TrustFile program to file returns and have received a notice and would like to know if Avalara can assist with the notice.

Resolution

  • Information typically necessary to resolve a Notice is preserved when you file your returns via TrustFile, to access it:
    • Pull your Transmission Status Report
      • Log into the TrustFile website and select your company, if necessary
      • Click States & History > click the drop-down arrow for the state in question
      • Click on the Return in question
      • Click Confirmation 
    • Pull the Return copy (PDF)
      • Log into the TrustFile website and select your company, if necessary
      • Click States & History > click the drop-down arrow for the state in question
      • Click on the Return in question
      • Click Print Return 
        • The date of filing will be included in the bottom of the return
  • If you cannot find information you need to resolve the notice, please contact us
    • Although Avalara cannot assist in speaking with the state and resolving the issue behind the notice, we can make sure there was no technical issue preventing the return from submitting properly.

 

Internal Notes Section: 

  • If the customer needs information that is not currently available in the UI, enter a JIRA for the Trustfile Dev team to provide the info, and note that the information needs to be scoped into a future product release, as it is required for notice resolution.
