Why am I receiving an error stating missing item description and code, when all of my entries have those fields populated?

Overview

My template has each item populated with a code, description, and tax code, yet I am receiving an error after importing stating that these fields are missing.

Avalara AvaTax

Resolution

  • This can happen if the spreadsheet you are importing has blank fields in it, below your actual data.
  • To prevent this error in future imports, simply copy your actual data and paste into a fresh spreadsheet, that has no blanks underneath your real data.
