What is changing and why?
The Iowa Department of Revenue has recently been sending erroneous notices of assessment. It appears the issue may impact all businesses who registered through the Streamlined Sales Tax Registration System to remit tax in Iowa. This letter was sent by the Iowa DoR to affected businesses.

Today: Monday February 28, 2022
What do I need to do?
Avalara is working with the Iowa Department of Revenue to resolve these issues on a case-by-case basis, as well as to resolve any other account items that need to be addressed.
How long is this needed?
The source of the problem has been identified and the Department is working on an across-the-board solution. We will update you when it has been fixed.
