Troubleshooting Salesforce CPQ and AvaTax timing out


When using CPQ and the Avatax connector with many customizations, you may experience a time out when you have enabled a workflow for automatic tax calculation. 




NOTE: This should be done by your Salesforce Administrator

Follow the below process to troubleshoot why this is happening for AvaTax Update:

  1. Activate the Process Builder
  2. Open Developer Console  and click on the logs tab. 
  3. Initiate the Automatic Tax Calculation by checking Calculate Tax  checkbox.
  4. Open the logs generated in Developer Console and check for Exception generated.
