What is needed when a state begins using two-factor authentication?


You would like to know what action to take when a state begins using two-factor authentication.

  • Avalara should be setup as the contact to get this authentication code when it is sent via email.

    • If you need to access your account and the authentication code is sent to us, please contact Avalara Support.

  • In the event that you are receiving the authentication codes, please open a support case and include those codes when you receive them via email.
    • If we are requesting access to your account, it is because we are attempting to file your return.

    • If we do not receive the authentication code, then we are unable to file the form electronically and will need to file manually in paper form.
