What does the option "Abort Save Operation on Tax Calculation Errors" do?

Resolution

  • The "Abort Save Operation on Tax Calculation Errors" in the NetSuite Avalara bundle allows a user to stop billing if tax cannot be calculated.
    • This feature gives a user the choice to interrupt saving transactions if:
      • There is an issue with an address, and tax could not be determined
        • Validate Origin and Destination address. if using Locations, verify Location address.
      • A transaction is locked and cannot be edited
      • There is an issue with Internet access
      • The AvaTax service is unavailable
    • Using this feature, billing can be stopped, if tax cannot be calculated.
  • To access the "Abort Save Operation on Tax Calculation Errors" feature. 
    • Go to Avalara > Setup > Configure Avalara > Tax Calculation tab.
      • Users can use this feature for the following types of Sales Transactions:
        • Bulk Billing
        • User Interfaces
        • Webservices
        • CSV Imports
        • Scheduled Scripts
        • Suitelets
