You missed some transactions when reconciling the sales in Avalara and your accounting system and found that several transactions were never committed to the Admin Console. We have already filed the tax return for the states and month where the trasnactsions should have been filied and you want to know what would happen if you commit the transactions now.
- What happens next depends on the date of the transaction:
- Transactions dated in the previous month will only be included in a tax return if you request for us to file an amended return
- Change the date to the current month and they can be included on the current month return
Note: If you choose to change the date, we recommend using a Tax Date Override of the original transaction date and a Document Date in the current period, so that tax amounts are not changed.
