Why am I getting a '' when trying to ping the AvaTax web service?


When trying to test the AvaTax credentials in your connector, you receive an error similar to the one below:

  • This message indicates that the IP address of a host could not be determined
  • If all connector credentials are correct, please work with your internal IT team to resolve the network issues
    • Review Avalara whitelisting standards
    • Perform a TRACERT to find where the call times out
      • Reach out to your ISP if the call makes it out of your network, but then times out
