How do I resolve an ActiveX error in QuickBooks Desktop?


You are getting an error "ActiveX component can't create object" when you open QuickBooks or try to access the Avalara configuration.




  • Register the DLLs using the Windows Batch (.bat) files in the Avalara folders
  • The Windows Batch files are in the BIN folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Avalara\AvaTaxAdapter\Bin)
    • (This is the default path, it can be different depending on the path used for the install of that specific workstation)
