How do I resolve The underlying connection was closed with Microsoft Dynamics AX


When trying to calculate tax with Avalara Avatax it results in the error message " The underlying connection was closed"

  • The error message indicates that there was a interruption of service and there is a difficulty connecting to Avalara AvaTax. To check if Avalara is having troubles you can check here but should subside with time.


  • Another reason for this to occur and this is because the timeout is set to 300ms and if it exceeds this period it will also error out.
