Why am I receiving an API Call Failure with the following response: "Could not find active certificate (number) for customer"?


A certificate for one of my customers has an API Call failure with the reason: "Could not find active certificate (number) for customer." What caused this error and what needs to be corrected?

  • The certificate has incomplete mailing address information for the customer

  • To resolve the error:

    • While in the certificate click on the Customer tab

    • Then click on the customer number

  • On the Customer Details, click on the Edit button on the far right

    • Make sure the customer's mailing address is complete - including the country

    • Click on Update Customer

  • Go back to the certificate and press the Queue API Resend button
