Commercial Revenue Reporting


Instructions for reporting revenue in Avalara MyLodgeTax.


Avalara MyLodgeTax


Avalara requires customers to enter their revenue into our system. There is no option to email revenue reports at this time.

To report revenue without using the Revenue by Marketplace feature, follow the instructions:

  1. Log onto your MyLodgeTax account at
  2. From Taxes, click Report revenue to open the Report Revenue page.
  3. In Nights Rented and Rental Revenue, enter the number of nights and the rental revenue for the period.
  4. Optionally, check Revenue Includes Tax, If the revenue amount you entered includes the tax collected from your guest.
  5. Optionally, turn the toggle button on for Show Exempt Revenue if you need to report the exempt revenue. For more information, follow the instructions to report exempt revenue.
  6. Optionally, if you need to report revenue for multiple properties, you may upload a spreadsheet with the property name, dates, nights rented, rental revenue, and exempt revenue information. To upload a spreadsheet:
    1. From the Report Revenue page, click Rental revenue template to download a spreadsheet template.
    2. Enter the details of the properties in the spreadsheet.
      The information should be entered in the first sheet of the spreadsheet.
    3. Once complete, click Choose file to choose the completed spreadsheet.
    4. Click Upload to upload the spreadsheet.
      If there are some errors in the spreadsheet data, rectify the errors and upload the spreadsheet again. The system doesn't allow incorrect data to be uploaded. For more information on revenue data upload, see Requirements for revenue data upload
  7. Click Save to save the revenue details. The Tax Summary page opens.
  8. On the Tax Summary page, review and verify the tax details.
  9. Click Pay now. This initiates a withdrawal from your bank account.
  • Funds are withdrawn from your bank account within three business days.
  • A receipt is emailed to you with the details of your tax payment for the period.

Note: If you don’t click Pay now, your revenue is not submitted. You can leave your reporting page in saved status and return to complete reporting at a later date. Any saved revenue details are automatically be submitted at 5pm Mountain Time on 10th of the month and funds, if any, are withdrawn from your bank account within three business days.
