You are looking at an exemption tab under Organization in the Admin Console and see that there is a column labeled "Applied", with some certificates showing a checkbox which is flagged, and others not. You want to know what Applied means and why only some certificates are flagged.
- Certificates showing a check under Applied means that the certificate is currently "applied" to a transaction in the Admin Console making a transaction(s) exempt from tax
- Avalara AvaTax automatically applies exemption certificate entries when processing transactions
- If the certificate has not yet been applied to any transaction, it will not be flagged as applied
- You are not able to check this box as it is system driven.
