Legislation was recently passed in Florida to create a 3-day sales tax holiday from August 1 – 3, 2014 in anticipation of the Back-to-School season. During this period, no Florida sales tax or local option tax will be collected on sales of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item, on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and on the first $750 of the sales price for computers and certain computer-related accessories when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
Our system Pro Codes for Pro subscribers will have the change for the sales tax holiday in Florida for back to school between August 1-3 2014, implemented for the appropriate tax codes.
If you are not a pro subscriber, you can either make rules for your tax codes to be non taxable in Florida for that date range, or turn your nexus off in Florida for that same range of time.
Note, turning off nexus in a state will make ALL transactions stop calculating tax there.
