How do I notify Avalara when I expect a traffic increase to my production environment?

Overview

You need to notify Avalara that you anticipate a significant increase in traffic to your live environment.

Resolution

If you expect a significant increase in traffic to your production environment for any reason (such as planning a flash sale), we recommend that you notify Avalara in advance. 

If unanticipated spikes in traffic pose a material risk to the security or performance of the services, Avalara may suspend the account per Avalara’s Terms and Conditions. 

To provide advance notice of increased traffic to your production environment, send an email to sre-support@avalara.com with this information:

Subject: NOC: Traffic increase for <customer name> production

Customer Name:

AvaTax Account number:

Adapter Version (SOAP, Rest v1, Rest v2):

Date and time the escalated request will start (Pacific Time):

Date and time the escalated request will end(Pacific Time):

Expected tps volume (Max request per second):

Name, email and phone number for a member of your team who will be reachable during these times:
