What do I do for the ACH Credit Conditional Approval Letter for Florida?

Overview

You received a letter from the Florida Department of Revenue "ACH Credit Conditional Approval Letter" regarding your request to use the ACH Credit payment method for paying your Florida taxes and/or fees and want to know what action you need to take. The first paragraph of the letter reads,

We have received your request to use the ACH Credit payment method for paying your Florida taxes and/or fees. The ACH Credit payment method will be authorized for the above account after you complete a test transaction (pre-note) of at least S.01 with an error-free CCD+ Addenda Record.

Resolution

  • The Florida Department of Revenue has confirmed that these notifications are automatically generated when taxpayers register for electronic filing.
  • For customers who use Avalara Returns to file their Florida tax returns, you can disregard this letter, no action is required on your part
    • Avalara remits sales & use tax payments to Florida using ACH Credit on behalf of Avalara Returns clients, and the state has assured us that there have been no problems with the payments.
    • You do not need to contact either Florida or Avalara about this matter, and no actions related to this letter are required by either you or Avalara.
  • For customers who use TrustFile to file their Florida tax returns, follow instructions provided in the letter
    • With TrustFile the Florida DOR is being paid directly by you, so we recommend to follow the steps provided by them to ensure timely payment.
  • If you file your Florida tax returns (not filed through Avalara) follow instructions provided in the letter to send a test
