Why didn't sales for a specific location get filed under the correct form?

Overview

When reviewing your returns, you noticed that some of your sales for a specific location were not filed under the form meant for that location.

Resolution

  • The main cause of this is the location code on the transaction(s) does not match exactly to the location code created in your admin console.

    • Our returns team will use the location code in your admin console and attach it to the return specified by you.

    • If the location code on the transaction(s) does not match exactly, then AvaTax will not know to allocate those sales to the specified form.
