What does Change Exempt Reason do on customer search results in CertCapture?


You notice that there is an option in the Perform Action on Results dropdown to "Change Exempt Reason" and you want to know what change that makes. 


Avalara CertCapture


  • Clicking Change Exempt Reason allows you to choose a new expected exemption reason for a customer record
    • This field shows on the customer record under the Taxability Info tab in the column Expected Exempt Reason


Note: This does not change the exemption reason on any existing certificates linked to the customer record.
