Is a customer address required in CertCapture?

Overview

You see address errors in a few places in the CertCapture service and you want to know when an address is required.

Resolution

  • Address is only required on a customer record for certain additional features:
    • Address including line 1 (can be Street or PO Box), city, state and country required for US or Canada customers for Certificates and Mailing certificate requests (fills out address on cover letter for mailing label when using standard no 10 envelope)
    • Address including line 1 (any international format), city, and country required for international customers for Certificates and Mailing certificate requests (fills out address on cover letter for mailing label when using standard no 10 envelope)
  • A missing address error will appear on a certificate when it is sent to the Admin Console (shows under Certificate History)
  • A missing address error will appear on a Campaign Mailout request when address is invalid (shows in Campaign)

 

Note: You can update the address on the customer record by clicking Edit, filling the fields and saving the change. You need to then recreate the Mailing Campaign, or Resend the certificate to the API to resolve the issue.
