How do I resolve error No Customer data was found to import. in CertCapture?

Overview

You are trying to import customer records in Avalara CertCapture, and your import processes, but you are getting an error message:

[Error] CertCapture - Bulk Upload Results (YourCompanyName) 
The file YourFileName.xlsx has finished processing with the following error(s): 
No Customer data was found to import.

Resolution

  • This indicates that the customer number was not filled in.
    • List a customer number in the Billing Customer Number column to import Billing customer information
    • List a customer number in the Shipping Customer Number column to import Shipping customer information
  • Correct your file and re-import
