How do I obtain supporting documentation for a credit or refund application?

Overview

You have requested a credit or refund from a jurisdiction and they are requesting supporting documentation to provide that the request is valid. You would like to know how to obtain this information to submit to the jurisdiction.

Resolution

  • Most of the data needed to provide documentation to validate a refund request is found in your admin console.
    • Copies of filed tax returns and payments for those returns can be exported from the Filing Archive on the Tax Returns tab.
    • All transactions used to file your returns are found on the Transactions tab and can also be exported from the Reports tab.
      • It is also suggested to obtain the transaction detail from your accounting software or ERP.
