How do I login if I receive the error: the user or account could not be authenticated?

Overview

When you attempt to login you get the message "The user or account could not be authenticated. Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again."

Environment

Avalara AvaTax

Resolution

  • Check your password and username
    • If a new password is needed, click on the "Forgot password?" link and create a new password
