How do I force a certificate update in CertCapture?

Overview

You want to force a certificate to be updated in the admin console, overriding any previous detail so the updated certificate will be used.

Resolution

  • Add an Invalid Reason to the certificate, then remove the reason
  • ***We recommend that you add the invalid reason prior to making any changes to the existing certificate, so that your old record will be Revoked (no matter what change you make). 
    • Go to Validation (on the certificate record in CertCapture)
    • Click Edit Certificate Validation > add Other > click Update Certificate Validation
    • Make any changes needed to the customer or the certificate
    • Go to Validation (on the certificate record in CertCapture)
    • Click Edit Certificate Validation > remove Other > click Update Certificate Validation
  • You can also do this from a Certificate Search:
  • Pulling up the certificates using Certificate Search > click Perform action on results > select Change Invalid Reason >select Other in Add Reason > Update
  • Make any changes needed on certificates
  • Pull up the certificates using Certificate Search > click Perform action on results > select Change Invalid Reason >select Other in Remove Reason > Update
