How come I can't see any companies in CertCapture?

Overview

You want to know why you cannot see any companies in CertCapture.

Environment

Avalara CertCapture

Resolution

  • This is either due to your User Role permissions or your user name not being assigned to a company.
    • To assign companies to a user, an Account Admin user will need to make the following changes:
      • Global Admin > Manage Users
      • Find the user
      • Assign Companies
      • Check the appropriate boxes and access level
      • Click Update Company Assignments
    • To update the User Role permissions, an Account Admin user will need to assign a new role to the user:
      • Global Admin > Manage Users
      • Find the user and press Edit
      • Select a higher user role
    • Or update the settings on the overall User Role:
      • Global Admin > User Roles
      • Select the User Role from the "View User Role" drop-down list
      • Go through all headers and select or remove the appropriate permissions
