How do I successfully import transactions from SalesTaxII to the Admin Console?

Overview

The customer is importing transactions from SalesTaxII into the Admin Console for returns

Environment

SalesTaxII
Avalara Returns

Resolution

  • Open AvaImp files
  • remove DestTaxRegion and OrigTaxRegion Columns
  • Fix company code be adding in leading zero, if needed
  • Make sure all zip codes are 5 or 9 digits (some North Eastern US states have a zero as the first number of the zip code)
    • Microsoft Excel removes leading zeros if they are not a certain cell type. To options are to make the cell type a zip code or use apostrophe 0, which will keep the leading zero.
