Note

Tax amount override does not work for past transactions that were saved with AvaTax and an AvaTax document was created for those transactions.

Steps

  1. In NetSuite, open or create the transaction on which you want to stop AvaTax from calculating sales tax.
  2. On the Items tab, select TAX AMOUNT OVERRIDE.
Ensure that you use this option before you save the transaction for the first time. Once the transaction is saved with AvaTax and an AvaTax document is created, it is not available to override the tax code.
  3. (Optional) Click Calculate Tax.
  4. Click Save.
When the transaction posts to AvaTax, sales tax isn't calculated and the tax amount override reason listed on the transaction in AvaTax is "Tax has been provided by another service." Learn more
