Highlights

New features

New UI with improved navigation

Avalara AvaTax for QuickBooks Desktop is now upgraded to a new user interface with improved navigation.

Cross-border tax compliance

Implemented cross-border tax compliance for businesses across borders. For more information, refer to Set up Avalara AvaTax for cross-border tax compliance.

Enhancements

Compatible with QuickBooks Desktop US version 2023

The connector is now compatible with QuickBooks Dekstop US version 2023.

Simplified upgradability

In order to upgrade the AvaTax connector versions from v93, v94, and v95 to v96.0, you do not need to uninstall the existing connector and connector files.

Simplified error reports and reconciliation

Added filters to simplify error reports and reconciliation. For more information, refer to Review transaction details and reconcile errors.

Single address validation

Implemented support for single address validation. Enabled ship-to and bill-to address validation of a single customer or vendor at a time. For more information, refer to Validate addresses.

Bulk address validation

  • Implemented support for bulk address validation. Enabled ship-to and bill-to address validation for customers, and bill-to address validation for vendors. For more information, refer to Validate addresses
  • Bulk address validation supports validating all addresses instead of selected addresses.

Uncommitted documents for pending transactions

Documents for pending transactions are now posted as Uncommitted.

Known issue

  • When opening QuickBooks Desktop you may get "Automation Error" or "Class Not Registered" error. If you get this error, follow these troubleshooting steps.
