Set up application logging

Enable and set up application logging to view any errors in the transactions or transaction requests and responses.
Steps
- Sign in to the Magento admin console.
- Go to Stores > Configuration.
- From the Configuration page, go to Sales > Tax.
- Under AvaTax Application Logs, enable or disable application logging.
- Select the Logging Mode from the following options:
- Database: Logs are stored in the Magento database.
- File: Logs are stored under the user machine/system directory.
- Specify the number of days for which you want the logs to be stored in the database.
If you specify nothing, then the logs are stored permanently. - Select Save Config.
