Release 4.0 [Release notes from development]

New

  • Added help text and notifications to help you with cross-border tax calculation.
  • The Attributes tab of a transaction now shows the individual tax amounts included in the total from AvaTax.
  • In a cross-border transaction, customs and duties now displays on a separate line from sales tax during checkout.

Changed

  • You now access AvaTax configuration on the Account Settings tab at Merchant Tools > AvaTax > AvaTax Settings.

Release 3.0 [Release notes from development]

New

  • Added a utility to reconcile transactions between AvaTax and Salesforce B2C Commerce. During reconciliation:
    • You can push missing transactions to AvaTax one at a time or in a batch.
    • Transactions are marked as reconciled after successful reconciliation.
  • Canadian VAT now displays at checkout, with a tax breakout for GST/PST/HST.
  • Added a business identification number field to the customer account record to support reverse charges with VAT.
  • During object mapping, you can now use order_id or Order Number as the document code that's passed to AvaTax.
  • You can now pass the customer number, customer email, or a custom field as the customer code to AvaTax.
  • Added a configuration option to commit transactions to AvaTax when marked as paid.

Changed

  • Line numbers are now sent to AvaTax as sequential numeric values.
  • Enable AvaTax, Enable Address Validation, and Enable Test Pipelines/Controllers now default to Yes in AvaTax configuration.
  • Added a description to the AvaTax Default Shipping Method tax code.

New

  • You can now calculate VAT.
  • You can now calculate tax in Canada, with tax details listed as GST, PST, and HST.
  • Order Number is now used as the document code passed to AvaTax.
  • You can now pass the customer number, customer email, or a custom field as the customer code to AvaTax
  • Added a configuration option to commit transactions to AvaTax when marked as paid.
  • You can now test the connection with AvaTax.
  • You can now save transactions as a Sales Invoice document in AvaTax automatically (also enables voiding and modifying) using a single configuration option. If you disable the option, you can calculate, but the sales aren't saved or committed in AvaTax.
