Download holiday tax schedules for offline use and set up a frequency for the downloads
Story
Ben owns an eCommerce business. As a business owner, he needs to know the collection process during the Sales tax holidays. Ben came to know that the state has declared tax holidays from May 21-24. Ben wants to have the holiday tax schedules downloaded for offline use and set up a frequency for the downloads.
To configure the batch as per tax holiday, Ben needs to:

Set up the batches at the start of every month.

Create three batches as mentioned below:
Before you begin
Verify you have done the following:

Items are mapped to the correct tax code.

If your company has set up custom tax rules in the past, check your custom tax rules (or change them as needed) in case a qualifying tax code is set to another rate.
Create a batch job to download tax rates from May 1 - May 20
Ben wants to configure the batch to download the tax rate every Monday of the week.
Steps
- Log in to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce(HQ).
- In the left pane, under Modules, select Avalara AvaTax.
- Expand Setup and then select Setup the AvaTax connector.
- On the Setup AvaTax connector page, select Retail setting.
- On the Retail tab, expand Fetch Tax Rates and Item Tax Codes tab.
- Select Fetch tax rates.
- On the Fetch tax rates page, perform the following:
- Select Run in the background from the drop-down list.
- Turn on the Batch processing option.
- Add the task description.
- Select Recurrence.
The Define recurrence page displays. - On the Define recurrence page, provide the following details:
Start date Select 1-May-2021. Start time Enter 12:01 AM. END BY Select 20-May-2021. RECURRENCE PATTERN Select Weeks > Monday. Keep Fixed weekly intervals as 1. - Select OK.
Create a batch job to download tax rates from May 21 - May 24 (Tax holiday)
Ben wants to download the tax rate daily during the tax holidays.
Steps
- Log in to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce(HQ).
- In the left pane, under Modules, select Avalara AvaTax.
- Expand Setup and then select Setup the AvaTax connector.
- On the Setup AvaTax connector page, select Retail setting.
- On the Retail tab, expand Fetch Tax Rates and Item Tax Codes tab.
- Select Fetch tax rates.
- On the Fetch tax rates page, perform the following:
- Select Run in the background from the drop-down list.
- Turn on the Batch processing option.
- Add the task description.
- Select Recurrence.

Create a batch job to download tax rates from May 25 - May 31
Ben should create the third batch to download the tax rates for the remaining days of the month.
