Validate an address in AvaTax for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Before you start validating addresses in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, review your settings. Go to Avalara AvaTax  > Avalara AvaTax Configuration and select the Address Validation tab.

Follow the same process for:

  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Locations
  • Companies
    • On a company record, choose whether to validate the general address or the shipping address

Steps

  1. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, select Navigate > Validate Address on a customer record.
  2. In the AvaTax Address Validation window, select Process > Validate Address.
  3. To accept the new address and update the record you're working on, click Accept. If the address doesn't validate, an error message displays describing why it failed validation.
