Prerequisites for Setting up Company Profile

Before you set up your company profile, you must collect the following information. You can find most of this information on your tax returns and business registration documents.

What information to collect for your principal company?

  • Legal company name
    The name your company uses on legal documents.
  • Your company's primary address
    The physical address for your company's headquarters or main location.
  • Holding structure outline
    A document outlining the company's holding structure and relationship with its affiliates and subsidiaries.
  • Report preparer information
    A name, email address, and country for whoever is responsible for preparing your transfer pricing reports with Avalara Transfer Pricing.

What information to collect for your subsidiary and affiliate companies?

For each subsidiary or affiliate company, you need to have:

  • Legal company name
    The name your company uses on legal documents.
  • Company's primary address
    The physical address for your company's headquarters or main location.
  • Details about the company's relationship to your principal company
    Ownership percentage and relationship in the overall holding structure.
  • A list of transaction types used by this company
    Different kinds of transactions are taxed differently depending on what country you're in. To generate your transfer pricing reports, list all transaction types used by this company.
